about

The first known commercial recording of Ships in Full Sail was made by melodeon player John J. Kimmel in 1907. The well-known song Father O’Flynn was born when Alfred Percival tool the melody of the Top of Cork Road and added the lyrics. Its origins can be traced as far back as 1779, when it was called The Yorkshire.
